The Burst is a sci-fi trash-punk(..?) VR shooter set on a prison planet.

Was primarily a VFX Artist, but had to write a whole custom particle system in C++ from scratch, because UE5 is dogshit for VR platforms.

  • Bullet Trails
  • Metal Sparks
  • Explosions

  • Jetpack Flames
  • Spore Particulates (that follow a spline)
  • Atmospheric Dust Particles
  • ...

Also had some impact in other areas with programming:

  • Player Movement
  • Tweaking Game Mechanics (exploding barrels/car handling)
